AA Insurance Say Car Premiums Are Still Rising
Published: 02/08/08
The AA Insurance Index reports that car insurance premiums are still on an upward trend, a path that it has been on since the Spring of 2006.
According to the AA Insurance Index premiums for fully comprehensive car insurance have gone up by 2.4 percent in the last three months, whilst third party, fire and theft policies rose by 1.4 percent. Translated into monetary values the average fully comp policy now costs just over GBP629 per year, with the third party option not far behind at GBP628.
A representative from AA Insurance suggested the ongoing rising premiums were the result of two main factors, increasing personal injury claims and more costly repairs thanks to ever more complex safety features and manufacturing.
