Direct Line has taken it on itself to remind motorists about the importance of having an insurance policy for their car and the affect it has upon other drivers. Direct Line has just released data that over 10 percent of drivers in the UK have had an accident with another driver that has had no insurance. Around twenty five percent of accidents cause injury to the driver or passengers.
A Direct Line spokesperson is asking for tougher penalties to be enforced on uninsured drivers. The insurer states that uninsured drivers are costing every other driver another 30 pounds on their premium. Not only are uninsured drivers breaking he law but they are one of the causes of many top insurance companies like Direct Line car insurance to increase their premiums. Much work is being done to identify uninsured vehicles by several agencies.
