A report by Halifax shows that many millions of households in the UK could be easy prey for thieves this Christmas.
Apparently twenty percent of the population will be travelling over the holiday period, leaving many millions of homes empty for periods of time. A third of these people are concerned about their home security while they will be away but a fifth of them will not do anything to enhance their home security before they leave. A spokesman from Halifax advised all people to think about security a little more at this time of year since it is vitally important.
Simple security enhancements Halifax recommends include setting timer switches for lights to go on and off, making sure all doors and windows are securely locked and that gifts and valuables are not in plain view from the house windows.
