Halifax Storm Advice

As storms work their way around the UK once again so Halifax advises homeowners to take some precautions to protect their homes and themselves.

With the typical claim for storm damage in the region of GBP1,000 according to Halifax figures the insurer is advising people to remove low hanging branches that are close by, cleaning out the gutters to give water somewhere to run and also making sure all items that are kept outside are secured so they cannot be blown around and cause damage.

The other major point they want people to check is that they have sufficient insurance of course. Some policies do not cover garden equipment for example, so details ought to be checked as soon as possible, although the Halifax insurance does offer this already.
