Statistics provided by the NHS show that the number of people being bitten by dogs is on the increase and of course the dog owner is responsible for any damage caused. More Than Insurance would like all pet owners to manage their pets responsibly, but does offer protection for owners in the shape of liability cover on their pet insurance policies.
A More Than Insurance spokesman explained that they would like all owners to act responsibly with their pets but understand that accidents do sometimes occur. For this reason the More Than pet insurance policy includes public liability insurance of up to GBP2 million. This is in case a dog injures another person or damage their property.
It is hoped that the cover will never be needed, but it is there just in case. More Than pet insurance also includes up to GBP7,000 worth of cover for each injury or illness suffered by a pet dog or cat, plus access to a twenty-four hour helpline for advice on pet health issues.
